Are you ready for hardwood flooring?

There are so many floor coverings on the market today that narrowing the choice down to hardwood can seem a bit daunting. But once you find out more details, you’ll be glad you took the time to research. A hard-wearing, durable flooring covering, these floors bring elegance and sheer timelessness to every room and match any decor with just a few personalizations. It’s easy to fall in love with this floor which is great since it averages a 100-year lifespan. You’re likely to never need to purchase flooring again.

Solid hardwood flooring is by far the most popular choice in this product line. It is one piece of wood, through and through, and you’ll have your choice of species. This is an important part of choosing the floors that best fit your family, as the species can be hard or soft. Busier homes mean you should choose the harder woods, which help your floors to reach their maximum lifespan potential.

At Flooring Solutions, we offer excellent floor coverings and all the services that bring them to life. From our Norfolk, NE showroom, we serve the communities of Albion, NE; Wayne, NE; Pierce, NE; and Neligh, NE. Come experience for yourself how our dedication to complete customer satisfaction can work for you. Whether you need flooring for one room or all of them, you’ll love what we have to offer.

It should be noted that solid hardwood flooring cannot be installed in below-ground spaces, so basements are not a good placement. This material must also be acclimated to your specific environment before installation. The specific time for that acclimation will depend on your climate conditions at the time of the install and your flooring specialist will give you all the details at that time. In most cases, the period is from one to four days.

Another flooring option for hardwood lovers is engineered wood floors. This material is still considered wood flooring because it features a real wood veneer just under the wear layer. Its construction means that it’s hardier and able to stand up to more moisture, temperature changes, and humidity than the solid variety.

Both solid and engineered flooring can be refinished. The solid version can be refinished several times over its lifespan, but engineered flooring, only a few, depending on the thickness of the actual veneer. Each process brings your floors back to a like-new finish that’s almost like having new flooring installed.
